When a disease takes the one you love away, it leaves an emptiness in your soul that will never heal. City Lights was written on a cold winter night when I sat in a cafe in Edmonton remembering the good memories from years gone by. The feeling of peace came over me as I lost myself in the street lights. I knew that if one light burned out, it wouldn’t matter, I suddenly felt like one of those lights and I knew I could burn out and no one would notice. The song came to me then. I brought it back to Innisfail and played it for Buzz and like always he used his mastery of words to help me put it together in the form that fit the song. He was always the word master that put the final touch on everything I wrote. It was with his help and influence that the ideas for songs kept flowing and the songs came to be. This song is dedicated to the memory of Lynn and the life we once had before MS took its toll Thanks to everyone for their support.

YOU CAN’T FOOL THE SHIT FLIES

Written by Buzz Vander Vliet-Kirt Burgess & Arvin Hopcraft
Produced and engineered by Arvin Hopcraft
Sitting around one-night jamming and we wrote a song called-
YOU CAN’T FOOL THE SHIT FLIES
It was a fun party song that Kirt decided to promote. As a result, we received airplay all over the world. I hope you enjoy this original song as much as we enjoyed making it.

This is my version of Good Luck Charm I created the backing track in my home studio and played all the instruments and sang to it. I hope you enjoy.

Sometimes I like love to take my acoustic guitar and play and sing some. Even at the live shows. This is an old Roger Miller song that makes me smile when I sing it.

A live performance in Blackfalds with Amber in 1998

Amber & I worked together for a couple of years. I created the midi sound tracks which were the music background tracks, and played my guitar along with them and Amber used her incredible voice. She was indeed one of the best singers I have ever worked with.
